Den Dolder, August 4th 2011 – Sauces manufacturer Remia has completed the acquisition of Van Dijk’s sauces division, located in Lopik. Van Dijk is part of EFS Group BV and has 108 employees. Van Dijk’s turnover in 2010 was approximately 50 million euros.

For Remia, the acquisition is a logical step. Managing Director Karel de Rooij: “Van Dijk Lopik has a strong position in the Dutch sauces market. By completing the acquisition of Van Dijk’s sauces business, we expect to accelerate the realisation of our international growth ambitions.”

Edwin Waijenberg, CEO EFS Group BV: “In order to maintain a strong position in the sauces market, given the European consolidation of sourcing parties and the large number of suppliers, for Van Dijk it was nessessary to join a strategic partner. Remia with it’s extensive experience in the sauces market is the most suitable partner.

By joining forces, the combination is wel positioned to further grow in both the branded and non-branded segment in the European sauces market.
